Good deal, Sid. I'm not braggin' but I think I have most if not all of the Beatles albums (ok, I'm braggin').
I know there's a difference between what was released between the US and UK but I would have to google to know. I have some on CD but the majority is digital. Here's my list:
A Hard Days Night
Abby Raod
Beatles For Sale
Help!
Let It Be
Magical Mystery
Past Masters V1
Past Masters V2
Please Please Me
Revolver
Rubber Soul
Sgt. Peppers
White Album
I have most of your list on CD, plus four on vinyl including Meet the Beatles, The Beatles Second Album and Beatles IV (IV is mono) on vinyl plus a Dolby 5.1 master copy of Abbey Road record Liane got me last Christmas.
Totally agree regarding UK vs US releases, Bruce. I even have a 33 RPM recording that is the physical size of a 45. It is on Parlophone so it is UK. Had it since 1966. "Twist and Shout" on side one, "There's A Place" and "A Taste of Honey" on side two.
Great pic you posted!
Got to go now, the Wings are coming on against the Flyers.
I need to check my Beatles inventory. I think I'm weak. I actually didn't know the releases were different between the US and UK but makes sense. How different are they? Different albums, songs or what?
I did a bit of research and apparently, besides mixing songs around, a lot of the early songs were re-mixed for US distribution so there will be some sonic differences. There are also US albums (Beatles '65, Beatles IV, and Yesterday & Today) that there is no UK equivalent for but I didn't check the track listing of those.
It's funny how some remixing/ and or remastering is really good and some blows...like ZZ Top's "La Grange" when they had it re-done for the emerging format known as the digital compact disc. I guess it depends who is remastering the material. George Martin did a lot of the Beatles remasters, so predictably it was all awesomely good.
