Vintage Who

Seymouro
I was kinda burnt on this song, but when this video popped up out of nowhere, I couldn't help but take notice. It was done in a studio but this is the spitting image of what we saw in the 70's.

There was no Keith at the Masonic concert Mark and I went to. But otherwise, this is exactly how they performed in 1978. Somehow they turned this video into 16:9 and gave it much higher definition.

Look at these guys. Pete may just beat hell out of the guitar. recommend this be played loud and on a good quality UHDTV.

Wowie-wow-wow. What a band! Those four guys are all masters of their craft and together are just awesome. and the quality of that video is outstanding for mid 70's. Man, Pete looks like he's got ants in his pants and that wall of Hiwatt amps is crazy cool. Like he said in Long Live Rock: "The place is really jumping to the Hiwatt amps 'Til a 20-inch cymbal fell and cut the lamps..."

Re: Vintage Who

I always looked at the Stones and Who as the top concert bands because of Jagger's endless energy on the Stones' part. I rate The Who perhaps even higher because you have two maniacs (three when Keith was still alive).

Daltrey and that lassoo mike and Townshend with his leaps and windmills are a double treat. All while John Entwistle (God rest his soul) stood straight as a statue.

Great video!!!

Haha, I still have the Hiwatt amp that I bought in 1977 and cannot bring myself to ever sell it. I bought it back in the day knowing that it was the amp of choice for two of my guitar heroes, Gilmour and Townshend.

Unfortunately I was never able to make it sound like those guys!

Don't feel bad, Mark, there's only one David Gilmour and I'm sure he can make any amp sound awesome.

Look at Pete way the eff up in the air!!!  That's incredible.

I know it! You'd think he would need a trampoline to get up that high. He had to be the most entertaining guitar player ever to watch.

How is that even possible? I know Pete was athletic but that's crazy. I love how Keith is looking up at him in amazement.
