Tribute to another late great...

I've been enjoying all of the blues, rock and even country vids here on the Weebly tonight.  And in particular, some great vids here this week in tribute to Jimi, Stevie...and now to another late great from another side of the fence, a great jazzer - Bob Berg.  Bob was my favorite sax guy until his tragic death several years ago in NY, when a cement truck was unable to stop on some ice, killing Bob as he and his wife were out for groceries.

Mark certainly knows Bob from his many shared projects with guitarist Mike Stern...who makes a slight appearance here as well.    You don't get to see the drummer much early...but if you know your fusion, you'll know who's spankin' the skins in about 60 seconds without seeing him.  Check the drum roll at 4:10.  Yep...it's some sax and guitar noodling over a tight band, but these guys are (were) among the best.

Man, that was nice. Those syncopated licks that bob and Mike were doing were almost unhuman. Too bad the camera didn't have a good angle on Dennis because he was really spankin' those drums. Yep, that run he did at the 4:10 mark was very cool. The quality was really good on this video as well so I watched it full screen.
