"Smile Away" and "How Do You Sleep"

Seymouro
I was just thinking about this after watching the fabulous Ron Howard movie "Eight Days a Week" on Hulu.

If you have not seen it, it's a must see. Great concert footage and nice piece of research on the boys.

The breakup was not covered (just as well) but shortly thereafter, on McCartney's second solo effort (RAM) he took a few backhanded swipes at John.

The rebuttal came swiftly on the "Imagine" album, with a beautifully woven and "rub your nose it it" response with "How Do You Sleep?".

My favorite part by a mile besides the humorous nature behind all the sniping though, is the absolutely outstanding slide guitar by George Harrison beginning at 2:49 and running through 3:22.

NICE!!!  The fact that you picked something from Ram is awesome... my favorite and generally forgotten  album from a Beatle. Love this.

How do you sleep at night is another great one from John and any George slide solo is a delight :-)

Too bad Eight Days a Week isn't offered from Netflix streaming so now I'll have to find it some other way. We don't have a Hulu account :-(

Thanks for sharing.

Dude, pick up Hulu.

You can get it with limited commercials right now for $5.99/month.

I haven't seen that movie either and I hate to admit that I only remember hearing a song or two from Ram and it was a long time ago. Two bad. Was that album not commercial enough?

It was somewhat commercial but not thoroughly.

It was his second solo album, released in 1971 (followed the one with him holding his little baby, main cut "Maybe I'm Amazed").

Main cuts were "Too Many People" and "Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey".
