New Pink Floyd - Hey Hey Rise Up

Saw this today and was pretty shocked that after all this time Pink Floyd put out a new song. Apparently Gilmour felt compelled to do something for Ukraine so he called Nick Mason and got the band back together.

The music is fabulous but obviously the Ukrainian sing is not the norm but that's what the song is about and for. I wanted to know what the lyrics are googled and found the translation:

Oh, in the meadow a red viburnum has bent down low
For some reason, our glorious Ukraine is in sorrow
And we'll take that red viburnum and we will raise it up
And we shall cheer for our glorious Ukraine, hey, hey
And we shall cheer for our glorious Ukraine, hey, hey

[Guitar Solo]

(Hey, hey)

Oh, in the meadow a red viburnum has bent down low
For some reason, our glorious Ukraine is in sorrow
And we'll take that red viburnum and we will raise it up
And we shall cheer for our glorious Ukraine, hey, hey
And we shall cheer for our glorious Ukraine, hey, hey

I had to look up what the red viburnum was:

Stepan Charnetskii created the song The Red Viburnum In The Meadow in 1914. This was made specifically for the Sich Riflemen, which is a Ukrainian military formation.

The song is called ‘Oi u luzi chervona kalyna’ in the specific language, which means ‘Red Viburnum in the Meadow.’ ‘In the meadow there a crimson kalyna has bent down low,’ is one of the song’s most memorable lines.

This is a representation of the kalyna fruit, Ukraine’s national symbol. According to other sources, the fruit also denotes a connection to one’s ancestral homeland or blood roots. Furthermore, the patriotic march of Ukraine’s Red Viburnum in the Meadow.

Cool song by PF. So who's all in the band? This whole Ukraine deal must really be eating Gilmour for him to get the band back together but I'm really happy that Dave can still get it done. Great guitar work just like he's always done.

TY for that!

Very sad that it took such an event to take place in a country that has known never ending sorrow in dealing with those bastards.

Great job by Floyd.
