Long and Winding Road - Beatles Remaster 09/09/09

I have 7 remastered Beatles CDs on their way to my door. I can't wait! I got a $50 gift card for Amazon just by answering a survey about universities, so I got all of them for $48, including shipping!

Here is just a taste of an excellent remaster. They took this tune and simply lessened the "Wall of Sound" and it sounds really good. Phil Spector had some interesting approaches as a producer before walking through to the dark side, but the "wall" was a bit much. Who needs a wall with the obvious talent on hand?

Wow!  It will be interesting to hear more of your thoughts once you've sat and digested this remastered collection.  I listened to a few, and some of the differences are quite noticable.  Such as the guitar work (particularly the second solo) in Let it Be.  No complaint at all...just a different, perhaps even better version than the original?

Would be cool to hear a side-by-side comparison between songs just to hear the difference.

Dave, I'm sure you'll be doing a bit of that once you get the CD's. Congrat's on the cop by the way, I am jealous. When you get a chance you'll have to stop by and give a demo of some of the highlights. Denise would love it too.

I got the Anthology a while back and it took a while to get used to some of the songs because they are very different (or incomplete).  I really like some of them though, like this one.

Interesting... never heard that before and it's lovely. Loved the stripped down versions of the Beatles songs. I've got the "All things must pass 2000" CD and it's got some re-recorded versions of some of George's best songs.

I earn my MBA December 1 then have 5 weeks off before taking a final 5-course concentration in Human resources.
