Lindsey Buckingham - "Big Love"

When you hear the name Lindsey Buckingham what's the first thought that enters your mind?

If you're most people, and you actually know who he is, your first thought most likely would be singer/songwriter/guitarist for Fleetwood Mac... and you'd be correct but what many don't realize is that Lindsey is a GREAT guitar player and master finger picker.

Lindsey has done well for himself but is underrated as a guitarist. I've never heard his name come up on any list of great or infuential guitar players of all time. Maybe it's because he never tried to be the "star" of the band and thought about the greater whole. And thinking about Fleetwood Mac, there really was no one lead singer because Buckingham, Nicks and Christine McVey all sang lead and somehow made that work which says a lot about keeping ther egos in check.

Check out this solo vid of Lindsey playing "Big Love."  This guy really puts his heart into what he plays and this tune really shows it (looks great in HQ).

Enjoy!

That really is a fine performance of a very cool song. I have to admit that I have dismissed him in the past as nothing that special. This shows him as a passionate artist and performer.
I don't know if I've ever seen a capo used on a classical guitar, but that appears to be a strictly electric one so ....why not?

thanks for a re-introduction Mark

That's an interesting observation, Paul, I guess I never really thought about that but ti sure works well for Lindsey.

Great tune Mark.

Here is another from "Tango In The Night"...there was a cool video of this that was recorded live also, but this one is the studio version and for whatever reason it is much hotter.

Lindsay really burns up the frets on this one...
