Graham Nash / Hollies.. the "Goody 2 Shoes" of CSNY

Seymouro
You can't help but see it.

Graham with CSN and CSNY, and with "The Hollies" was clearly the little Brit "Goody Two Shoes" in each venue.

But give the "bloke" credit. I have already explored "Look Through Any Window" , "Bus Stop" and others.

Now I add "On a Carousel" and "Carrie Ann" to that mix.

"Hey Carrie Ann, what's your game now, can anybody play...?" The second one, from 1966, on the bloody BBC for crying out loud! Rocks!

Great fun and introspection in dealing with, as John Cleese (Basil) called his wife in the immortal series "Fawlty Towers", the "Trouble and Strife"...

Editor's note... Carrie Anne was released a year after Graham Nash left to become a member of the new super group Crosby, Stills and Nash.

Obviously, the influence was intact.

Two excellent vid's. The Hollies obviously were not afraid to perform live with no lip sync and they were great. I always admire bands that can do it well live and even change things up a bit since we've all heard the originals a cajillion times.

Graham was always my favorite Hollie/CSN member because he has such a distinctive voice. He hits the high notes effortlessly and is a vocal meister. I miss that piercing vocal on the later one but Hicks does a fine job (was it Tony Hicks that replaced Nash?).

Enjoyed both videos very much. My favorite Hollies tune was always 'Look Through Any Window' & I'm pretty sure I wore out the 45 we had.

BTW, I own the Fawlty Towers series DVDs. John Cleese is one of the funniest men ever & he even guest starred in my favorite episode of Cheers.

Great choices - Great songs.
Phil Everly, Art Garfunkle and Graham Nash. The holy trinity of high harmony.
and excellent live performances.
but let's not forget one of the greatest songs ever written "He Aint Heavy...."
which was done after Nash left

Yep, that's a great tune which I have not heard in a long time. Thanks for that one, Paul.

I enjoyed it so much that I dug for this version...

OMG!

I just saw this post Big Jer.

Fawlty Towers is my all-time fave!

Even over the "Python" stuff.

A hall of fame physical comedian if ever one was born...I'd pay just to have a clip of every single time Basil (Cleese) ran up and down the stairs in the hotel!!

And his ex -wife Connie was a real looker wasn't she? Nod nod. Wink wink. A real specimen aye? Nod nod, wink wink? A real go-getter was she? Nod nod, WINK WINK!

Even though there were only a dozen some-odd episodes, what a blast!

Right you are! Say no more, say no more!

I don't remember him doing Compaq commercials in the 80's, but there are a bunch of them on YouTube, including this classic:

BTW, I thought Polly was a looker!
