Arguably my favorite Tull. The play between Ian Anderson's flute and the guitar stylings of Martin Barre are in complete sync.

What a unique band with Ian as the frontman and Martin on guitar. Ian always had that wild look in his eyes and jumping around on stage playing the flute. Martin was great and I assume he and Ian had some classical training.

Yeah, I think they are great on stage too Bob.

Classical training, I'm not sure but very possibly.

I think it's negatory on the classical training. I read somewhere that Martin Barre never even took guitar lessons.

I would have guessed they had some sort of formal training but now that I know they didn't just means they have natural musical abilities. Plus Ian doesn't just play flute and sing because I've seen him play other instruments quite convincingly. Another thought... today everyone is all about labeling genres and I keep seeing bands like Tull and Rush called "progressive rock", which I suppose is true, but back in the day they were simply rock bands. Correct me if I'm wrong about that.
