Elvis Costello & The Sugarcanes - National Ransom

Check this out... Costello playing what amounts to a rock meets bluegrass tune that is very cool.

Elvis C playing an acoustic guitar along with a fiddle, mandolin, acordian and..... Jerry Douglas on electric lap steel guitar. That's craziness. I'm surprised Jerry isn't playing his usual dobro steel guitar on this one but that's OK, he's awesome either way.

Enjoy

Never cared for much Elvis C material, but this is such a change-up and with Jerry Douglas kicking it on electric steel lap,

Well, what I am saying is that it SURE works for me!

Yeah, I was never a big EC fan either but when I saw this I thought it was excellent.

I too was not an EC fan when he came out with "pump it up"in '77 but was re-introduced by a friend in '89 when he released "Spike".
Here's 3 from that album that put him in my list of favorite songwriters. Thoughtful, clever and brutally honest.
