Crack The Sky.

Grado
One of the best bands that never really made it big.
From West Virginia, but were a favorite in the Baltimore DC area.  Still are.
John Palumbo writes a lot about loyalty, deceit, some would say the darker side.

She's a Dancer
We Want Mine
Suspicion

And a ton of others.

Best album, imo......White Music.

Their signature song, about loyalty, and how far will it go.

Ice.

And the unplugged version, 40 years after the original.

https://youtu.be/4vL4ODROilQ

When the summer night has changed its warmer breezes to the icy cold of silent winter freezes, will you be there?
When the flowers in the windows of the neighbors start to bow their frozen heads and to leave us, will I see you there?

Chorus:
Will you stand by me against the cold night,
Or are you afraid of the ice?
Afraid of the ice?
Ice.

When the waters of the roaring ocean bring a chilling feeling and the beach is closing, are you near me?
When the cloudy skies are blocking out the sun and suddenly your nose has begun to run, do you still hear me?

Repeat chorus

Will you stand by me against the cold
Will you stand by me against the cold
Will you stand by me against the cold
Ice

Whoa, what the...

Grado, you're just full of surprises. Ok, I've always loved prog rock so how is it that I don't know this band? That song came out in 1975 and they have lots of albums. I'm sure glad I have finally been made aware but at the same time I feel like I've been deprived all these years. Great stuff, and the 12 minute acoustic version is a basement masterpiece!!!

Ya, these guys are pretty good Mark.
This one, got a good bit of airplay when it came out.
Everyone thought they were on the verge of the big time with this one.
Kinda snappy.

In the studio version, they put up a poster, bout half way thru.

South Baltimore was a seedy, run down part of town back then.
Full of old rowhouses, many of which had been converted to bars and clubs.
Before the City took it, and built Camden Yards for the Orioles,
it was The Place if you were into the music scene.   A lot of bands would come thru there
before going on tour, polishing up their act.  Some big places, a lot of small ones.

And Hammerjacks, was the biggest of all.

She's a dancer.

Wow, another great tune with great vocals. The vocals somehow remind me of Badfinger but the music is way more complex. I can't imagine how much practice it would take to do a song like this live and yet they are so tight. That's impressive.

I must admit that I've never heard of these guys either. Great music though and another group that I will explore when I have time. I'm really hoping that they have many great songs I like.

Chock up another who has never heard of these guys. All I can say is that they either never played them in my area or so little that i didn't hear it or have CRS. These guys are great though and I will investigate further.
