One of the best bands of the 90's. This was also the intro to EA's video game "NHL 2001"...listen to the lyrics. No surprise.

Last decade with more than 50 songs that could be played on commercial radio that you'd want to listen to.

Oh heck yeah. Man, i think it may have been you that turned me on to these guys when they first came out. I saw them a bunch of years ago at Freedom Hill and they were great live.

Not sure that I fully agree with "underrated" because they had BIG hits around the turn of the century and stations still play them. They just haven't had anything that stations will play since then.

Ans I'm not sure that I fully agree with that either because I still hear "Heavy" and a couple others still on the noise box.

Well, you certainly can't be blamed for that Walt because I rarely listen to the radio since I have so much music right on my phone. Who woulda thunk years ago that I would have more music on my phone than most classic radio stations. Crazy.

Good point. Still hear them occasionally but they ran out of new material pretty fast.

Some bands continue putting out music but for whatever financial, managerial, political or whatever other reason they don't get airplay and rely on a cult following of hard core fans. A good example is Cheap Trick and I would also say Peter Frampton to name a couple that had HUGE success but newer music goes completely unplayed.

So I wiki'd Collective Soul and low and behold their latest album was put out in 2019. Albums were sparse from 2001 through 2019 but they put albums out on a slow but steady pace. I would guess it was too expensive to record more without loads of album sales.
