Well, kinda local.
Liane, me and a local friend went to see a prairie musician out of the Twin Cities named Erik Koskinen Friday night. Coronado Performing Arts Center in Rockford, IL. Cool setup. The seating was actually onstage facing the seats of the theater and the two guitar players were looking right at the back of the stage facing us. Very good music...country, rock, blues.
The dude even wrote and recorded a song called "Detroit, Detroit" in tribute to his father, who at age 85 still has a job driving a shuttle around the metro (Detroit) to the airport! Liane cracked up because there is a reference in the tune about Kwame K "the mayor's still rotting in a cage", LOL. The song was written in 2010.
We bought two of his CDs. This was my favorite song he played.
