For those who are not familiar with this master of alternate tunings, check out Don Ross. This guy caught my ear immediately on Pandora while listening to my "Phil Keaggy" channel. I was more impressed once I saw his YouTube vids. Here he is playing his tune "Blue Bear", using the EADGBE tuning. Check his great pick n' strum technique. He could use a cutaway on that parlor guitar as he explores all of the neck's real estate. Nice curly Q's on the string ends too.
Yep, I've never heard of Don Ross either but by the way he looks he's probably a mountain man or lives in some remote area that's hard to find.
He sure is good.... very jazzy. I'm used to hearing that sort of stuff played on an electic guitar but I suppose where he lives they might not have electricity... or end cutters to trim those strings.
I never could understand why certain guys like to curl up the unused part of the string instead of cutting it off. Can someone answer that? Drives me crazy.
