Re: And now for something completely new

Grado

Thx for putting up something new.

One sometimes feels like, I dunno, a bit lost, disconnected or out of touch with what’s going on.
It’s like I don’t really have a clue, let alone
find a track or 2 that really grabs me.

And it’s never been that way before.

Maybe a Taylor Swift marathon is in order?

Well I liked it even though it's more poppy than what i generally go for. The lead singer's voice reminds me of Tom Petty a little.

Grado, what genres of music do you like?  There is some good new music around, the problem is that it's not easy to find like the old days when we could hear it on the radio.

Ya good band and song.
They seem kinda new to it all,
good chance the future is big for them.

Kinda like early Bowie, or Pink Floyd.
Like Bob said, kinda poppy.
But my gosh, ever listen to PF when Syd was still with them?

Thx Seymouro.

Well I'll be dipped, that dude does sound a lot like Petty but the music somehow made me think of the Pretenders. I agree that it's poppy but I like it. Deer Ticks? Have they run that low on insect names for bands? Let's see... there was the Beetles (with an A), The Crickets, The Ants, Scorpions, Papa Roach. Seems they skipped over a few when they picked their name. What's next, The Bed Bugs? Hey, that might be a good name for a punk band! I'm gonna copyright that one!!!

Great pick, Seymouro. Way to go for finding new stuff to listen to.

Why they named the band Deer Tick .

Lead guitarist and singer Joe McCauley explained that inspiration for the name "Deer Tick" came while hiking in summer 2005 in the Morgan–Monroe State Forest near Bloomington, Indiana, where he found a deer tick on his scalp one evening, having never come into contact with one before despite having frequently gone camping and fishing as a child.

Speaking of completely new, Mark M has a new EP but there's no video that I know of. Grado, you mentioned that you like Floyd so the first song is kinda Floyd-ish and is why I mentioned it. He posted a link to the songs in the general topics.
