Jon Anderson and Jean Luc Ponte formed a band.... and they have an album? Sounds like a wonderful idea to me and I just found out they're playing at the Music Hall on November 6th. How have I not heard of this before now? and no one told me, I stumbled across the concert whilst surfing the venue sites.
Nice to see that Ponte is still doing something, I haven't heard anything about him in years. And I thought Anderson was having some health issue that prevented him from touring with Yes? So while Yes was (or is) touring Anderson is working with Ponte?
Well, I finally got to watch that PBS concert and I was impressed overall. Some good Yes covers and some Ponte bits throw in as well as originals. Anderson can still sing which I'm glad and Ponte doesn't seem to have lost a step. It was great to hear him play as I haven't heard him in many years. Anderson seems to like to steal the show a bit with odd things he likes to do but that would be the only negative. Oddly, Time and Again was my least likely song and even it wasn't bad and Ed is right... too commercial.
I guess that pairing didn't last unless it was planned that way because the last I heard Anderson was touring with Wakeman. I don't know any details but I assume they're doing Yes tunes? And Yes is touring so is there two bands doing Yes?
