I kinda agree.

But I think early Deep Purple was prior to Machine Head, Who Do We Think We Are, and finally, Burn. That is my favorite run and they had several albums prior that did not measure up.

I thought Perfect Strangers was the best they did following that impressive run. Eight years after the "run" (1984).I liked Ian Gillan back doing vocals and even though we all know that Blackmore is possibly the biggest egotist in rock history - I love most all of his playing.
