Walker Brothers - Sun ain't gonna shine any more

Seymouro
Back to 1965...

The Four Seasons (with Frankie Valli, of course) performed this one first and came up surprisingly empty.

Then Scott and John Walker of the Walker Brothers did this a few months later.

A lot of people think that this is the Righteous Brothers (Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield).

It evokes the depth of emotion that probably put Scott Walker on the fast train to the depths of depression that unfortunately followed shortly after they made this song a huge hit.

But give a listen...just don't be like the chick that Ray Davies describes in "Jukebox Music"...it's only music...

Seymouro
Editor's note-

The three guys in this band were not really brothers. Scott "Walker" is Scott Engel, John "Walker" is John Maus. Just like the Righteous Brothers.

Not brothers. In addition, while the song was popular in the U.S., it was a number one in both the U.K. and Germany for eight weeks. Never came close here.

Great classic tune & production! Amazing how some of the early groups took advantage of good orchestral arrangements to enhance their songs. I always wondered if some of the artists were knowledgable enough to write them...???
