UK

Seymouro
Mark and I were just hooked into a "pick your top ten albums" deal where you list the ten that most influenced your musical tastes.

Mark had the first UK album on the list. Great work. This is from the follow up "Danger Money".

Allan Holdsworth is a deity.

Danger Money is a great album but unfortunately Bruford and Holdsworth were gone after the first UK album. Holdsworth was fired after the tour and Bruford quit because he did not agree with that decision.

Bruford and Holdsworth then re-formed the Bruford band and recorded "One of a Kind."

For the Danger Money album, Wetton and Jobson recruited Terry Bozzio (awesome drummer) to replace Bruford and I believe it was only those three on the album but correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Wow Walter, I had no idea that you had that kind of knowledge of prog rock. I am a huge fan of all things Bruford and Holdsworth and even i did not know that Holdsworth actually got fired from UK. I always thought that he left the band since he was such a transient sort of musician. And now that you mention it I don't believe there are any guitars on Danger Money but TBH I haven't listened to it in a long time.

That makes two of us Mark. I was commenting somewhere that I loved that when Holdsworth played guitar that it sometimes did not sound like a guitar. Well, here's a case where the playing in Danger Money didn't sound like a guitar because there WAS no guitar on that album! Just John Wetton on bass and vocals, Eddiew Jobson on violin and keyboards and Terry Bozzio on drums.

Great play Walter.

Ok, wait... somebody actually fired Allan Holdsworth? Who would fire Allan Holdsworth? I'll tell you who it wasn't... it was not bill bruford!

Re: UK

it was John Wetton. He formed the band. He followed this up with "Asia". Should have left the UK group alone.

I totally agree but i did like Asia despite the fact that the band went a bit too commercial for my taste. Steve Howe, who is totally different than Holdsworth, is another of my absolute favorite guitar players.
