Re: This masquerade

Are we really happy with this lonely game we play?
Looking for the right words to say
Searching but not finding understanding anyway
We're lost in this masquerade

Both afraid to say we're just too far away
From being close together from the start
We tried to talk it over but the words got in the way
We're lost inside this lonely game we play

Thoughts of leaving disappear each time I see your eyes
And no matter how hard I try
To understand the reason why we carry on this way
We're lost in this masquerade

We tried to talk it over but the words got in the way
We're lost inside this lonely game we play

Thoughts of leaving disappear each time I see your eyes
And no matter how hard I try
To understand the reason why we carry on this way
We're lost in a masquerade
We're lost in a masquerade

And we're lost in a masquerade

Re: This masquerade

Jingles
Dang bro that song is deep. I admit that I've only heard the George Benson version so I never knew Leon did it. I had to look it up to discover that Leon actually wrote it and was the B side to Tite rope. I do know and love that tune. Always love hearing something I've missed so thanks man.

Ya Jingles I’m with you on that.
Carney, a great album.

It’s not really recognized, the volume of work the guy did.
Yes, his stuff with Joe Cocker is out there.
But if you read up on him, he goes way back,
and plays session on some really, really mega hit songs.
Frank Sinatra, The Beach Boys, Jan and Dean,
Bob Dylan, George Harrison, the list goes on and on.

Oh what the Sam Hill???  I only read about the Masquerade song, I had no idea the guy was involved in so many things. Beach Boys? Wow. I didn't even know he was part of the famous Wrecking Crew.

I've been seeing a bunch of posts on FB because his birthday was April 2nd. What a great song writer and what a unique voice he had. Gone almost 8 years already

Re: This masquerade

Walter E
He had an extremely unique voice. I would think that he would not have made it as a singer if he wasn't such a prolific song writer but he did make it and that's awesome.
