Thin Lizzy..again

Seymouro
There's a reason that AC/DC was booed off the stage at Royal Oak MT 1980...

We ALL wanted THIN LIZZY!

Three more from this most underrated band!

"Wild One"

How gorgeous a tune...

"Dancin' in the Moonlight"...wow... a toe-tapper from the boys. LOVE IT!

Finally, the first inspiration of the band...the Irish classic..."Whiskey in the Jar"... this is incredibly awesome!!!

LATE INSPIRATION...

Gary Moore DOES cook...

"Don't Believe a Word" from the Old Grey Whistle Test.

Good stuff! I didn't remember much about Thin Lizzy. Thanks for the reminder!

Gary Moore really did cook on "Don't Believe..." & only needed 5 strings!

Seymouro,

THis is a great post and it's been long overdue for Thin Lizzy to make it onto the YTVOTW.

That said I think that Gary Moore is a great guitarist in his own right but I never liked him in Thin Lizzy. IMHO the sound of Thin Lizzy that I still and have always loved is the combo of Scott Garham and Brian Robertson on guitar. If you want an example of the difference first listen to the Don't Believe A Word clip you posted where Moore converts the tune to blues, to this one where Brian plays the rockin' version like what's on the album:

What can anyone say.

You are without a doubt correct Mark. I like the Moore version but I L-O-V-E the Gorham/Robertson version.

Merry Christmas!
