The Stones. On with the show!

This post was updated on .
Their retort to the Beatles Sgt. Pepper album I believe.
Panned by many, now and then, one guy liked pretty much the whole disc.  Trippy, kinda trippy.

The original jacket cover had one of those plastic, I dunno what you call them, 3d things that when you tilted it from side to side the guys would move.

The only other jacket that I recall having one was on the Captain Beyond album, Captain Beyond.

And yeah, that’s one of, if not the last times you’d see the complete, original guys that started that band.

Yep, that’s Brian Jones, right of center.

Anyways guys, On With The Show!

That dude does a great job explaining the diff between the Stones and Beatles albums. Funny how Keith told the photographer to make the Stones cover better. And, that album is very trippy indeed. Very psychedelic and I always thought it was kind of an anti-Beatles sort of thing.

Satanic Majesties Request is a mixed bag but is worthwhile, i.m.h.o. I have the original album complete with the 3D cover over the pic with Mick wearing the coned hat with the star.

Love 2000 Light Years, Rainbow and The Lantern. The rest I could take or leave.

Haha, I knew you would still have that album! I think yours is the only one I ever saw with that cover. I'm with you on the songs because I like the same ones.

You know what, my brother stole the original that I had, probably for drug money some 30 years ago.

But we were at a great local resale shop in Rockford three years ago and I saw it in the rack. They wanted $25 for it and I was reluctant but Liane insisted that I have it so it is back!

I have always been a Stone fan so all of this is quite interesting to me. I've always thought of the Satanic album has kinda an under the radar sort of release for them. Sort of a dark anti-pepper thing but I've never actually heard any explanation before this.
