The "Pride of Flint"

Seymouro
This post was updated on .
Mark Farner and Grand Funk Railroad might be the most underrated band of our lives.

The "Survival" album alone is worth full price adjusted for inflation right this minute. Their cover of "Gimme Shelter" reinvented a great song. Or "Inside Looking Out" from their very first album.

BTW Mark, I think "Inside Looking Out" would be a great song to submit to Dan Scott to cover in Jamuary!

This is just a well-written and performed number that deserved so much more attention than it ever received.

They played it here in Freeport, IL an hour ago. God they would NEVER play this on WCSX, WRIF, or the new "Rims"...

YES!!! Inside Looking Out is a fabulous song. Not sure if it was your intent but the link is for "Bad Time", another great tune. I think I actually appreciate it more now than I did then. No wonder with all the crap that's been out for so long. Anyhoo, here is a link to an excellent live version of ILO:

I did mean to put "Bad Time" on there because they played that one on the radio, but got carried away thinking about "Inside Looking Out" at the same time!

Farner went solo at some point, right? Did GFR ever do anything after that?

Yep, really too bad because they had such great success and then....

How did they let that get screwed up?
