The Lions - Packers Thanksgiving day game featured a pretty cool halftime Motown show...with some new artists that performed rather well.

One song covered was this one from Innervisions (great LP).

The first one was cool but the second one is the jem. What year would that have been from? Early 70's would be my best guess but that's a swag. Man, Stevie and band rocked that tune and on Sesame St no less... and an extended version to boot. Seems to me there were lots of cool bands on that kids show so who exactly were they there to entertain... the kids or the adults who were stuck watching the show?

Both were awesome.  
Too bad I ate a few big pieces of cake (very special cake) before going to see Stevie at Olympia Stadium many years ago.  I remember the concert but not as well as I would have liked.

Wow Dave, excellent!!  Higher Ground was a great performance, what near perfect vocal control Stevie has...but yes, Superstition was kickin!  Yes, it must've been some groovy moms in the kitchen digging some Stevie while the kids were jumping up and down in the family room along with a few of them S.S. kids, some of whom looked like they enjoyed every minute of it...while a few other looked like - when is this noise going to end?  :-D   Great!

Stevie is great! Just saw him on HBO's Hall of Fame Anniversary special doing Higher Ground with Jeff Beck! If you have HBO, don't miss this special. Many artists playing together that never played together before.
