Rush

Seymouro
Never heard this one until it popped up following a song on You Tube. From "Clockwork Angels" 2011.

Wow, that's massively heavy. Very cool tune. I'm a Rush fan but i have to admit that i have never heard this album. I'm sure Deano knows of this but I don't ever remember him mentioning it so I'll have to ask him about it when I talk to him.

Speaking of Dean, he turned us on to his song which we proceeded to learn and play. It was very fun. Joe actually sang this and did an admirable job which was quite a feat. just listen to Geddy's vocal on this one.

I had to reply to this. Three replies for Rush? Doesn't seem right to me, Rush is one of the great progressive hard rock bands of all time for many years and many albums. The only reason they stopped was because they lost one third of the band when Neil Peart passed a few years ago. One of the greatest drummers of all time.

You might enjoy this article:  https://www.vulture.com/2024/01/rush-geddy-lee-drummers.html

I do know that Alex and Geddy have performed with various famous stand-in drummers but they were not in the band and Rush has not re-formed as of yet.

Re: Rush

Jingles
I know that there a lot of fantastic drummers in the world but I don't any that could exactly fill the shoes of Neil Peart. He was not only very technical but he had a particular style and he played so many various percussion things.

I absolutely agree and I will add that all three guys are very unique in there own way and would be difficult to replace any of them. That said I wouldn't mind hearing some drummers have a go at it. Wouldn't be Neil but still entertaining I think.

Lookin at their song list ya, plenty goodies.

Ya, I know it’s mainstream, kinda pop,
but good then.

And relevant today.

The young trio at the top of their game, 1977, all still had long hair. I love how Neil played bells in the early stuff. Mainstream 1977 wasn't too shabby IMO. Miles better than what we got today.

Oh, that "No one at the bridge" song?  Awesome, dark, delicious. What an excellent tune.
