Randy Newman

Paul Wargo
I've enjoyed Randy Newman's sardonic and sarcastic wit for some time. When I recently came across this fairly new one, I was reminded of a back and forth I had with Seymouro about the transient nature of world domination.......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OldToIF5ZGs&feature=related

It's kind of a serious one

this is a little funnier........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGO42gvCSPI&feature=related

I know this is a music performance site and I'm not trying to get TOO political, but as a pianist, I do enjoy his playing and writing.
I hope you're moved to respond............yea or nay

A huge YEA for Randy Newman.

That was a great post, Paul, I love Randy Newman and he's been one of my favorite song writers for a long time. I don't always agree with what he has to say but the man knows how to speak his mind. I also love the way he tells a story in second person and when I listen to the words I always seem to conjure up a great image in my mind. Two songs I really like are "Louisiana 1927" and "Sail Away."

What's interesting is that I just downloaded a bunch of RN from Emusic this week

Classic Randy!  Thanks Paul, I need to add him to my music collection!  I'll have to check out the songs Mark listed too, as I only know a few like 'Short People' & 'I Love L.A.'

I Love L.A.
