Les Paul Tribute - World is Waiting for the Sunrise

Big Jer
Sadly, Les Paul died today at the age of 94. Here's a classic video of the master with Mary Ford.

Man, could he pick!!!

Nice Tribute Posting Jer!  I never realized he was so "instrumental" in the evolution of the guitar.
Thanks.

What a complete bummer to hear that Les passed away. I've been really busy and is why I haven't been active on the forum lately but I felt that I needed to respond tho this particular thread.

Les Paul has always been an ispiration to me. Not only was he an electonic genious who invented multitrack recording but also invented the electric guitar as well as developing the famous "Les Paul" guitar (most awesome guitar ever made). This all stemmed from the fact that he was a fabulous guitar player and was still actively playing into his 90's.

Denise, my dad (who was a Les Paul & Mary Ford fan) and I just watched the "Chasing Sound" video a couple weeks ago that we got from netflix.

He was an amazing guy.

Lastly, thanks to all for keeping the YTVOTW going with all the great vid's. I plan to respond to every one when I get time.... soon!

Great post Big Jer.

I have known Mark since the proverbial "Dawn of Time", yet even he never exposed me to this much about the immortal Les Paul, and Mary Ford.

But I guess we had so much to talk about anyway that it never came to the forefront.

Thanks again for the enlightenment. Very enjoyable!

Dave
