Kansas in Concert

Singin Jimmy
Well, I was able to keep my HDNet channel and this week recorded:
-  Paul Rogers & Queen.  I've seen it before but they did a nice job.
- Gaelic Storm.  Haven't watched it yet but I'll let you know.
- Bonnaroo Music Festival.  Haven't watched this yet either - we'll see.

But, the one I was really excited to see was:
- Kansas, There "Know" place like home.  This concert was recorded at Washburn University's White Concert Hall in Topeka where a few of them went to school.  The concert was back in February, 2009 and the DVD was released in October.  Here's a sample...

The concert also had Kerry Livgren and Steve Morse appearing together for the first time - both as "guest musicians" with:
Bass - Billy Greer
Violin - David Ragsdale
Keyboard/Vocals - Steve Walsh
Drums - Phil Ehart
Guitar - Richard Williams

These guys still have it.  I first saw them at Cobo Hall with Steve Walsh doing handstands on the keyboards while playing - what a concert.  Enjoy...

With orchestra in high quality.... EXCELLENT!!!

I saw Kansas maybe 10 years ago and Walsh was doing handstands on the keyboard then. Very cool. I'll have to see if this concert is available on Netflix and hopfully I'll be able to see the entire thing soon.

Thanks, Jim.

Kansas is still one of my favorite prog rock bands. Great that they're still out there playing!

Thanks Jim!

Well, this Kansas concert is available through Netflix so I was able to get it last week. Denise and I watched it and both of us really enjoyed it. FYI, this concert was filmed to commemorate their 35th anniversary. The boys still got it man... they are awesome and it was cool to see Livgren and Morse playing with the band.
