Yes, that slow build-up at the beginning is great. Not my favorite Purple as I think they were past their peak by the time the 80's rolled around. Provocative lyrics for sure. My favorite songs were from the early 70's like this one.

Same here. Early Deep Purple for me.

I kinda agree.

But I think early Deep Purple was prior to Machine Head, Who Do We Think We Are, and finally, Burn. That is my favorite run and they had several albums prior that did not measure up.

I thought Perfect Strangers was the best they did following that impressive run. Eight years after the "run" (1984).I liked Ian Gillan back doing vocals and even though we all know that Blackmore is possibly the biggest egotist in rock history - I love most all of his playing.

I’m with you guys…….but that’s a cool thing
about this place.

Kinda off the wall stuff you don’t see or hear, put up
for the rest of, I dunno what to call us,
like minded individuals?🙂 to enjoy.

Ya, cool pick Seymouro👏🏻

I think not just like minded but open minded as well. I know that when you guys post something I've never heard I give it a good honest listen and most of the time I'm glad I did. I love when a tune is posted that I have completely forgotten about as much as something I have never heard before.

How about some Deep Purple with Steve Morse on guitar?

Oh yeah, as much as I like Richie on the earlier Purple stuff, Steve Morse is one of my guitar heroes since 1978 when I first heard of him whilst scouring the pages of Guitar Player magazine. Back then his band was Called "The Dixie Dregs" then later shortened to "Dregs" then it was "The Steve Morse Band" before joining up with Purple.

Here's a great one from the album Perpendicular:

Steve IS the man for sure. Nothing like Blackmore back in the day but if I had to choose between the two I'd take Morse every time.
