In response to "Big Jer"...Floyd

Seymouro
Hey Big Jer,

You brought up "Obscured by Clouds".

What an awesome collection! A number of fans think Syd Barrett was still active in this release, but alas, he was already "out of the game"...

But the influence of his "broad brush" surely painted on the canvas here.

Some of the best early Gilmour riffs..."Free Four".

Note: Observe the notes that the contributor made in the video...most times they are garbage but these ones are actually very poignant and tell a story....

Speaks for itself...

Re: In response to

Great track, Seymouro! Yes, the notes were very interesting. This album came out the year I graduated from high school & got my first full-time summer factory job. I ate my lunch in my car (a '68 Ford Galaxie 500:) & listened to this tape often.

You probably already know this, but the album is the soundtrack to the film La Vallée, a 1972 French film written and directed by Barbet Schroeder. The film stars Bulle Ogier as Viviane, a woman who goes on a strange and accidental voyage of self-discovery through the New Guinea bush. I've never seen the movie, but Netflix has the DVD & a reviewer says that there are subtitles available using the player's menu/remote (not a DVD menu option). I think I'll add it to my queue!

Here's my second favorite mellow Pink Floyd tune after Us & Them...Stay (in honor of Richard Wright)
