Great track, Seymouro! Yes, the notes were very interesting. This album came out the year I graduated from high school & got my first full-time summer factory job. I ate my lunch in my car (a '68 Ford Galaxie 500:) & listened to this tape often.
You probably already know this, but the album is the soundtrack to the film La Vallée, a 1972 French film written and directed by Barbet Schroeder. The film stars Bulle Ogier as Viviane, a woman who goes on a strange and accidental voyage of self-discovery through the New Guinea bush. I've never seen the movie, but Netflix has the DVD & a reviewer says that there are subtitles available using the player's menu/remote (not a DVD menu option). I think I'll add it to my queue!
Here's my second favorite mellow Pink Floyd tune after Us & Them...Stay (in honor of Richard Wright)
