No, I did not miss the point, just had too much going to get on the site the past few days.

Loved ALL of the JLH vid's. I think all of the great old bluesmen expanded on the basic blues formula and added to what has become standard blues licks. John Lee is definitely one of those guys and one of my favorite traditional blues players. I love seeing performances of the older bluesmen with Brit bands because it shows that the Brit's didn't just steel their music and make tons of money from it with no appreciation.... they actually were huge fans of the original bands and had great respect for them.

These are exactly the type of vid's I was hoping you'd find. That Santana/Hooker vid is excellent and I had no idea that Carlos ever played with John Lee. Looks like that one is from around 1990 to me.

The Stones/Clapton/hooker vid is just classic. I know that Jagger, Richards and Clapton are all huge fans of the old blues music.

Good job bloke.

I didn't realize at the time, just how much the great old bluesmen were responsible for the music I loved & played. Not only the British bands, but American bands like The Allman Brothers also expanded on the basic blues formula to create classic rock that will never grow old. Great to see them recognized & appreciated! Good finds Dave, thanks!
