Ian Anderson new album

This is an awesome new solo album by Ian Anderson. It has elements of Jethro Tull but is a solo work and is a bit of a twist. Martin Barre left as a "partner" with Ian in 2012, amicably, to try some new ideas out. They may or may not play together again. As Ian said himself, he has played with some 28 musicians since he started Tull and some have other things going on, some hang in for a while and unfortunately some pass on. Anderson is 67 himself. Give this a listen. I will post something from Martin Barre in the next several days.

Outstanding!  Ian is still rocking. Agreed that this sounds like Tull but wasn't Ian the most influential member of the band? IMO Martin always sounded great with Tull but I never bonded with his solo stuff that I heard.

I think you are right Walter. Ian Anderson did most of the writing with an occasional hand from Barre and the other band members. I love Martin Barre on guitar too, though as you say.

He has one of the most unique and unmistakable sounds of anyone that plays.

Ian is excellent. I've never seen him or Tull live but I bet either would be awesome. We rented a Netflix concert/documentary about Tull which was really interesting. Told the band's story from the early years and how Ian got the one leg thing going. He was a crazy dude in those early years... man what a stage presence that guy had!
