He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother

Seymouro
Dan Scott posted this earlier in Jamuary.

Classic vocal of all time (great lyrics too) from Tony Hicks, lead singer Peter Howarth and the Hollies.

An oldie but goodie... somehow forgotten by classic radio - at least in Detroit. Hollies were a GREAT band.

By the way, what is "Jamuary?"  was that a typo?

An oldie but goodie indeed. I watched a Hollies documentary not long ago and when they interviewed Graham Nash he said that he was surprised that the band had hits after he left to join CSN. They actually did quite well without him for a while.

Hi Bob.

Jamuary is a music festival of sorts that is held annually at the Royalty House at 13 and Van Dyke in Warren.

Dan Scott, an old high school pal, books his band and two or three other talented classic rock bands for an evening of entertainment (Jam, if you will...) the third or fourth Saturday in January. Hence, the term "Jamuary".

Tickets are $25 and include all you wish to drink beer and mixed drinks. It is a real fun event at a really humdrum time of year. Let me know if you are interested, or just look at Jamuary.net.

I'm going to try and make it this year. I need to put it on my calendar.
