Great 60's hits

Seymouro
What a decade. Maybe we were ahead of our time as kiddies, but I got immersed by age 6 in 1963.

This one is pre-Beatles. Want a love song. Here you go. Walker Brothers. Kinda thought for a moment this was Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield (Righteous Brothers). They were the f*^k#*g Righteous Brothers before those two thought about it. Besides, as an unabashed lover of great background vocals, they win.

Left Banke is kinda "avant garde". Cultlike following. Regardless, great vocals and lyrics don't need much accompaniment. Nevertheless, the strings are haunting.

Seymouro, where DO you dig up these treasures

The Walker Bro's sure do remind me of the Rightious Bro's. They predated them? One sure did seem to get inspiration from the other. I know the Everly Bro's and Four Seasons (and I'm sure there are others) had a big influence on groups that came after them.

Glad you enjoy them.

I was just blessed with a "steel trap" memory. These songs are all "good as new" to me!

FYI,

I poked on your avitar to see if I could figure out what up with that big ear and I found that all of your posts were revealed. Quite cool. Check it out.

I was hoping enlarge the picture (looks photo shopped to me)

LMFAO Walter!

Mark and I had a good buddy in junior high school who was really heavy. We drew him dozens of times each. This is actually a ninth or tenth generation rendition of Fred that is Mark's crowning achievement!

Fred never liked us poking fun at him and hated us drawing pictures of him exponentially more. He was so mad once that he turned an "underground" comic book that Mark, me, and two others collaborated on, to the principal. When the principal noted that there was a cartoon featuring HIM, Mark and I both got called on the carpet and had to appear in his office!

In fact, Mark made this one by simply drawing over a photo!

Junior high can be a cruel place. Flame proof suit required before entry. So Mark was the photo shop artist on that avitar? Nice

Fred got irritated with us but it was all in good fun. Mostly for us but Fred was a good sport and no harm was done. That avitar is an actual picture of Fred with minor modifications. And I honestly do not recall how the one ear got larger than the other but it's really funny to me.

Well, for "historic" perspective, we just always drew him with one ear bigger than the other.

That's my story and I am sticking with it!

I may have to go back to the "gold source" and review an original.

Is that his name on the dog tag? I can't read it.

Mark is right.

Always one ear bigger than the other. Normally the right ear. BUT no hard and fast rule.

Well Mark, all the "evidence" left is your decaying drafting folder.

Might have to call for a DNA analysis...LOL

Yes, the folder IS the gold source
