Getting very excited to see Jeff Beck

Seymouro
He's playing at Huntington Amphitheatter in downtown Chicago July 29 and Liane and I will be there.

Of all the great concert stops by bands this summer, this was the "must see" for me. Mainly because I have never seen him perform live.

This is his touring band and it looks solid...Paul Rodgers is not in it, he will perform separately.

It will include drummer Vinnie Colaiuta (Frank Zappa, Sting, Herbie Hancock), vocalist Jimmy Hall, bassist Rhonda Smith (Prince, Chaka Khan, Beyoncé, George Clinton) and cellist Vanessa Freebairn-Smith.

Now check out the playlist. I am damn near salivating!

You will love it. We saw him a few years back and he was awesome. One of my all time fav guitar players and Vinnie is also great. I know Vinnie has been with him for a while but I'm not familiar with the others.

Off topic:  we saw JT last week.... NO, not James Taylor, JETHRO TULL!!!  Ian is 71 and still going strong. He had one of the old timey keyboard players with him but the rest were added in later years. All great though especially the guitar player he's got who does a splendid job of covering for Martin Barre. They did all of the classic songs so it was a good time.

Would have loved it.

The first drummer was Jeffrey Hammond (he of the sloppy drums in Aqualung). The guy playing now is Scott Hammond. Wonder if they are related and does the current guy play "as sloppy".

LOL

I would love to see Jeff Beck or Jethro Tull. Both classic bands and Jeff must also be around the same age as Ian, right?

Well, I looked it up and I was surprised.

I thought Ian Anderson would be older. It's close but...no, it's Jeff Beck 74 and Ian Anderson 71.
