Don't Laugh..The Bee Gees

Seymouro
Before DISCO swamped and almost destroyed the planet, including the Moody Blues to some degree, and particularly this band...all was good...

But I really enjoyed great vocal talent from the Bee Gees before Saturday Night feve...err, Saturday Night bubonic plague, only RAP is worse.

I digress...enjoy these four Bee Gees, YES, BEE GEES standards before they SOLD OUT followed shortly by the infamous "Disco Demolition" at Comiskey Park in Chicago 1978 (led by the incomparable Steve Dahl, nee of Detroit fame) caused the evil Chicago White Sox to forfeit 9-0 to our Tigers!), and began the demise of DISCO!!! The fans of Chicago hurled so many disco records onto the field that "people's loved ones were in danger!".

Thanks guys! The Gibb brothers should have been paying attention, you think?

The Bee Gees are no joke to me!  I always loved their early stuff & didn't even mind listening to their balads during the disco years. They were a welcome break from the normal disco songs, if you were stuck in a disco bar in the 70's. Great post Dave!!!

Here's one of my old favorites played LIVE with an orchestra:

...and for those of you that don't remember Steve Dahl's Disco Demolition Night, here's a news report covering that classic event:

The "Lonely Days" link didn't work for me so I'm posting a new one because this is my favorite Bee Gees song.

Interestingly, I was in a conversation about the Bee Gees recently and we all agreed that they were excellent before Disco. I know that I was a fan and I think I still have a 45 of Lonely Days in my vintage 45 case

It's obvious that the Bee Gees made the right move by going disco from a finacial perspective but I wonder what they would have done if disco hadn't come along at that time. It's too bad really because they were still producing some great stuff right before then.
