Another tip- for anyone that hates a disorganized audio library, here is a solution for iTunes users. Although the first 500 tunes are free to get organized, it is $20 per year, or $30 for a lifetime membership. I am in the market for any suggestions that you may think is even remotely close to doing this task, so obviously, I am not carrying this programs flag as the end all. But it is the best start I could find on the Windows platform. Please post any software or web2.0 app, widget, gadget that might be relevant to keeping and maintaining a music library!
I think $30 for a lifetime membership would be money well spent because, like the old saying goes, time is money. I'm not an i-tunes user or I'd consider it. I try to organize my mp3's as I get them so my library never gets too far out of hand but that hasn't alwys been the case. When I first started collecting mp3's I put them all in one folder with no standard naming convention. By the time I started to organize them I probably had nearly a thousand and it took me a while to sort that mess out.
