Beck...that is JEFF Beck (the REAL BECK) Part 2 Rock years

This one inspires an age-old comparison between former Yardbirds' guitarists Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin (if not "Slowhand" himself, Derek, or Mr. Clapton).

To me, Beck is easily the most flamboyant, and independent maverick of the three. Page definitely was the most creative and perhaps innovative.

But in the long run, it is like comparing "Rembrandts" with "Picassos".

Jeff's guitar work in this one reminds me of a car careening down a 7% grade mountainside road...out of control and about to crash...

I agree with all of those comments. Going Down is probably Beck's most popular early song and deservedly so. I still remember the local band, Salem Witchcraft, doing that song in bars in the mid 70's and they did a great job.
